Word of Greg is a free site run by LatentEdge. Using it means you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, close the page.
1. What this is
You type to Greg, an invented character whose replies are generated by an AI model. There is no account, no password, no subscription, and nothing to buy. The one form on the site asks for an email address and gives you the rest of your conversation in return.
2. Greg is not an adviser
Everything Greg says is generated by a language model. It can be wrong, it can be strange, and it is meant to be read as a two-minute ritual rather than as guidance. Nothing on this site is medical, legal, financial, psychological, or any other kind of professional advice, and you should not act on a reply where a qualified person is the right one to ask.
Nobody reads this chat as it happens. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line rather than Greg.
3. The house, and its limits
The site admits 100 new people each UTC day and counts them in public. When the day is full, the door opens again at midnight UTC. Alongside that, each address gets a fixed number of chat requests in a rolling 24 hours, your sixth message asks for an email address before it is sent, and your browser stops you at ten messages a day.
Those limits are what keep a free site affordable, so please do not work around them: no automated clients, no scripted requests, no rotating addresses, and no scraping the API.
4. How to behave
Do not use Greg to produce or distribute anything unlawful. Do not attempt to break, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the site or its API. Do not submit anyone else’s personal information. We may block an address or withdraw access at any time, without notice and without explanation.
5. What you share
Sharing a reply is your choice and takes a deliberate press. When you share one, you give us permission to store the text of your question and of that reply and to display them at the link the site generates. If you go on to offer the reply to the Wall of Words, you give us permission to display it publicly, which happens only if the site owner approves it. Whatever rights you hold in what you wrote remain yours.
A shared link is readable by anyone who has it, so do not share anything containing personal information, your own or anybody else’s. We may refuse, unapprove, or take down anything for any reason. To have a shared link removed, email support@wordofgreg.com with the link.
6. What is ours
The name, the design, the artwork, and the code of this site belong to us. Greg’s replies and the Daily Word are generated by a model at the moment they are asked for, and we make no claim that they are original or that anyone else has not been told the same thing.
7. Availability
The site is provided as it is and as it happens to be working. We do not promise that it is available, that Greg answers, that a Daily Word appears, or that any link keeps resolving. We may change the site, break it, or end it at any time. It also depends on services we do not control, including xAI and Cloudflare, whose own terms cover their parts of it.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising out of your use of this site or out of anything Greg said to you. Where the law does not allow a limit that broad, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.
9. Privacy
What the site collects and what it does with it is set out in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the place from which the site is operated, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute belongs to the competent courts of that place.
11. Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top changes when they do, and using the site afterwards means you accept the revised version.
